Turkish Ambassador in Iraq Mr. Derya KANBAY and IACCI meet
and plan the second annual Iraqi Turkish Business Gathering
to be held in Istanbul October 7th and 8th, 2008.

Objectives: |
- Annual gathering for
public/private business networking event to promote and
improve business opportunity and trade between Iraq and
Turkey
- IRAQI GOVERNMENT will discuss projects and needs and
ways to bid on contracts
- IRAQI PRIVATE SECTOR will introduce themselves and the
needs they have for partnership with Turkish counterparts
and Turkish companies will do the same
- EXCHANGE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES and develop lasting
business relationships
- SECTORS include but not limited to Oil, Gas, Electricity,
Construction, Heavy Equipment, Transportation, Major Public
Projects (Roads, Bridges, Dams, Hospitals etc), General
Trading
- OIL, GAS AND ELECTRICITY will be key sectors, Iraqi
delegation will include ministerial level as well as
technical staff

PARTICIPATION: |
Iraqi government officials
and Turkish government officials responsible for improving
business relationship between the two countries will be
present

Officials from the following
ministries and departments will be present, PM Office,
Investment Board, Ministry of Electricity, Ministry of Oil,
Ministry of Water Resource, Ministry of Housing and
Construction, Ministry of Municipalities, Baghdad
Governorate, Other Governorates, Ministry of
Telecommunication, Ministry of Transportation and others

GOVERNMENT PARTICIPATION: |
We expect a large group of
Turkish government officials to participate

PRIVATE SECTOR
PARTICIPATION: |
the private sector is the
engine of business and we expect a large and very interested
participation by Iraq and Turkish companies

IRAQ BUSINESS
INTEREST: |
Iraqi American Chamber of
Commerce and Industry will bring a delegation of 200 private
sector Iraqi business owners that are interested to do
business with Turkish companies

TURKISH
BUSINESS INTEREST: |
we expect the same or larger
number of Turkish business owners to participate
|
|
AGENDA: |
Agenda will include
conference proceedings and breakout sessions focusing on
each of the important sectors. Themes in the conference
a) How to Bid on Iraqi government contracts, b) Iraqi new investment law,
c) Financing your projects in Iraq, d) security concerns etc |

FOLLOW UP: |
After the event IACCI with
its partners in Turkey will follow up with conference
participant and insure maximum cooperation and business
relationships are generated by the conference
